Scotland’s tourist industry is gearing up for the global interest expected from the US release of Disney Pixar’s Brave with a new TV and cinema advert launched today.
VisitScotland, the country’s national tourist board, is looking to reach millions of viewers around the world through the ads narrated by TV historian, Neil Oliver. The campaign will see the airing of VisitScotland’s first TV advert in North America for ten years thanks to a major funding boost by the Scottish Government.
The advert will be translated into four languages: French, Spanish, German and Italian, and will showcase the drama and spirit of Scotland through its landscapes and natural environment.
UK audiences will also be treated to the new advert in cinemas and TV in a special UK version which will launch when the film opens in August. Brave’s UK premiere takes place this month at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
We’ll be celebrating the release of Brave in US cinemas this week with a series of blog posts featuring some of the places that inspired the animated film. Photos from last week’s tour of locations can be found over on the Cinematic Scotland Flickr page.
